Orthodontic Treatments with Clear Aligners (Invisalign);
Orthodontic treatment with aligners are an extremely comfortable and aesthetic treatment option for patients who do not want to wear braces. At the beginning of the treatment, intraoral and extraoral photographs, x-ray analysis and records taken with intraoral 3D scanners are transferred to the digital system and a treatment plan is digitally created. Clear aligners, custom-made for each individual according to the treatment plan designed in the digital simulation program, have the capacity to gradually align the teeth through weekly or 10-day changes, with each aligner moving the teeth closer to the desired position.
Since the aligners can be removed and replaced by patients during eating and drinking, the dietary restrictions required for fixed orthodontic treatments do not apply to this treatment. Additionally, since there are no brackets that cause food debris and bacterial plaque to adhere, ensuring hygiene is quite easy, reducing the risk of tooth decay and gum disease.
The most important rule to follow in this treatment option is the requirement for 22-hour daily usage. Control sessions can be scheduled every 6-8 weeks or longer intervals if planned from the beginning. It may take 4-6 weeks for the aligners to be delivered after records are taken. At the first session, attachments are placed on the teeth to facilitate the desired movement of the aligners on the teeth. It is a technological treatment option that does not disrupt the flow of daily life and provides ease of use for our patients, as it can be removed on special occasions.
